What a week it's been! We've been writing up a storm....we are using all our strategies that help make our pieces interesting...

To that end, we really work hard on writing grammatically correct pieces. Specifically, we focus on writing complete sentences, with correct capitalization and punctuation. We are finishing up our study of realistic fiction. Students should be completing their 2nd nine weeks Bingo Reading Cards. They are due Dec. 4. In social studies, students presented their Native American projects; they were awesome. We learned quite a bit about the different tribes that inhabited Texas by the 1500's. Next, we study New World explorers, especially the Spanish conquistadors and the French explorer, Sieur de la Salle. Please remember that Tuesday, Nov. 24, is Multi Cultural Festival day. Your child is encouraged to dress in a cultural outfit that represents your own culture or ancestoral history. We will visit different booths that day and learn about other cultures. You are invited to be present, as well, if your schedule allows. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday enjoying family and friends. See you bright and early Monday, Nov. 30.
